I bought these boots on sale for $40. I wore them for two weeks walking in Eastern Europe in the winter. They were warm and comfortable. However, the lacing system is terrible for tightening your foot at the heel. There is no way to tighten the top of the shoe so you have a tight fit up front but loose in the back. So, the size you buy will need to be just right.
The materials seem to be made of a cheap canvas. I am not sure how well it will last. The soles appear durable and had little wear after much walking. There are much better shoes out there for the same price. And Salomon needs to get rid of the terrible lacing system and have a normal one with laces, not thin strings, that goe to the top.

I bought these shoes for use in an urban area during winter (basically walking to work early in the morning, when most of the snow was not cleared). Fine for that purpose, but struggled if walking in the countryside (not waterproof). Anyway, they lasted a single winter, but towards the late spring (about 5months later) they split at the seams. Good for a single urban winter, but not much more.

The Salomon Men's Deemax 2 Dry Winter Boot is very comfortable! It has very good arch-support; you can wear them all day. They have 200g Thinsulate to keep your feet nice and warm, and they are water-proof. It is amazing how a winter boot can be so light-weight, and, at the same time, so comfortable and protective. Also, these boots are vegan-friendly; no animals were harmed or used in the making of this product. Truly amazing! Wayne Andrews
